Get out of the System!
You get up in the morning to an alarm clock set to a time 7am. You finish your routine obligotory duties and head to work.
You work from 10am to 5pm, head back to home. You might spend some time with your family but it is already time to dinner and then sleep.
This cycle repeats for years to come. There will be weekends/holidays you go on trips but you always know you have to get back to office on Monday.
You family admires for the House you own, the car you drive, the clothes you wear. But you know the exact amount that gets deducted from your salary every month for all these amenities.
You are stuck here. There is no other way than to climb the corporate ladder in any way possible.
I was lucky enough to get out early but most people cannot because of the EMIs, peer pressure, no money saved, no investments, etc.
I was a entry level employee in a big multi-national company. I was completely unaware of the situation I was in.
I was not serious about my work. I hardly worked. I still wonder why they paid me for all those years I was there.
Anyway, I had to leave because I had found another way to earn more than what they were paying me by working only a fraction of the time.
This is where I got serious about life. I had time to think. I still had to work for someone & get up at a certain fixed time but I was mostly free.
Eventually, I got rid off all the debts and I had come to a stage where I did not have to work so much. I was happy with what I had.
I found out a few ways to make money without me having to work. It is mostly like I have to work for a month without much sleep but then it is automatic. It takes care of itself.
While doing all these, I realized I’m still in a world built by someone else.
I eat, drink what others have been doing, I live up to others expectations. I was buying things to impress others.
I was anxious about not earning enough. I wanted to be rich that others envy. I wanted to travel the world.
When I looked at the birds, dogs, and other animals living in the wild or on the street, they seem to not care a thing about others.

They are mostly worried about the current meal, not even the next meal.
This felt like freedom to me. I mean I had enough money to feed me for several lifetimes.
I had more realizations just by comparing wildlife with my life. I read some books that helped me understand why we do things the way we do it. Some of them opened my eyes. I wish I read them years ago
- The food we eat doesn’t have to be tasty. It should be nourishing. That’s all.
- Eating 3 times a day is the norm but we should be eating when we are hungry.
- Bakery items & street foods are carcinogenic, we should cook our own food.
- The seed oil we consume causes a lot of issues slowly. Better stick to what our ancestors used before everything was adulterated.
- We do not need soap, detergents etc for cleaning. There are natural alternatives that do not pollute our ground water.
I used to be stressed all the time while I was working. I used to be worried about the future and the ways I should be making money. I eventually understood it is all a waste of time. You do what you feel is right and don’t care about anything or anyone.
I do not understand why we worry so much.
When I realized I have enough money, I felt like I can stop worrying.
It is fine I do not have a BMW but I’m happy with what I have. I have enough to take care of myself and my family.
I do not work these days. I just play with my kids, spend a lot of time doing the daily chores, helping out my wife etc.
I have zero appointments in my calendar. These days I do not even look at one.
My aim is to buy a few acres of land and settle there. I want to grow my own food. I do not want to go to the market for anything (Except for salt maybe).
This is doable. I still use the market economy to grow my money by equity investments but I do not want to indulge in consumerism.
